Memories came unbidden last night after I spoke to you. I visited the attic of our childhood, coughing and tearing, as the dust of time rises, having settled over these trunks of secret words, songs, promises, stories, laughter, handshakes, hugs, tears, hysterical giggles, dances, pictures, graduation, book of nonsense, diary entries, crushes, frustrated rants, hideouts, trips after school, runs, troubles, racing hearts, fears, plans, dress-ups, letters, wishes and dreams. Once the dust settled, I buried my face in my hands and sobbed like a child. I sobbed for the innocence lost, and the pain we went through, alone. However, despite it all, our friendship remained strong. "Best Friends Forever and Ever!" (: A promise made with sincerity and love from 2 children's hearts. And the promise will be kept.Wherever we may go, whatever the decisions we make, whatever we become, whomever we live with, we will be best friends. We both know that. You're like my twin, from another mother. One Hindu, the other, Christian. Yet, religion has NEVER been a barrier. Who understands us better than the other? I just wanna say, I Love You and HAPPY 20th BIRTHDAY MEL!! You're a huge part of my life, having been part of it Half the time. God Bless you babe and all the best in whatever you do. (:
With Much Love,
Vee
